My second time around and I’m even more pleased than the first and the first knee surgery was super. After years of suffering with two arthritic knees, I sought the services of Dr Carl Freeman at JOI. My first inclination was to avoid surgery if at all possible and received several injections that were merely bandaids for the pain and misery my bone-on-bone knees were giving me daily. Dr Freeman, reviewed my options and convincingly assured me that I was a prime candidate for a total knee replacement. After several more injections, reduced mobility, lack of any desire to walk, fish, play golf I agreed that something must be done.

In October 2017, Dr Freeman did my right knee. By the end of November, I was performing all household duties, pain levels were minimal and the knee was improving each day. The process worked. The hospital PT staff had me up the same day of surgery. The next day included two sessions of several exercise routines that were challenging but doable-discharge was that afternoon. After such a positive experience, I was ready for the left knee. It was decided that February 2018 would be the target and on the 15th the left knee was done. At this writing, it’s been two weeks since the right knee surgery, pain is controlled with acetaminophen, I have transitioned from a walker to a cane. I’m scheduled to begin outpatient PT next week. I can’t thank Dr Freeman and his staff (Sheryl, Shekeya, et al) enough. While my recovery is ongoing, my daily agony of chronic knee pain is history!! I am now ready to be active again and enjoy life! Again thank you Dr Freeman and staff.
